Project goal
To assist in building the socio-economic functioning of families in the Diepsloot community.
Objectives
• To provide one nutritious meal to children everyday
• To assist children with homework
• To educate children with different life skills and digital literacy
• To provide food parcels and toiletries to the families of the children
Clientele
The clientele of the centre is mainly children and their families from the Diepsloot community.

There is a demand from the Diepsloot community on the services that are rendered by the after-care centre and this demand continues to increase daily as the problems facing the area persist. Most of the families in the area are not able to feed their children which means that the meal that the children receive in the centre is the only nutritious meal that they are having for the day. Again due to the fact that the parents of the children in the area are working or pre-occupied with finding means of provision for their families during the day, they sometime do not have sufficient time to help their children with homework and attend to their emotional and social needs. This makes the services rendered by the after-care centre imperative in the community.
The number of children and families benefiting from the after-care centre is on the increase and it could double within the next one year as more families come to know about the centre and bring their children for services. The centre would then need to increase its capacity in order to be able to respond to the demand and the increasing scope of its reach. The centre would have to increase the assets that it has to prepare meals for the increasing number of children. The other equipment such as the cutlery, crockery and the groceries and food would also need to be replenished for the same purpose. The Centre also plans to introduce sport and recreational activities to the children in the Centre which would be a new initiative that was not there before.
