Describe in detail what your Organisation does:

 

  • Our objectives
    ACTIVE CITIZENRY, this is about holding workshops to bring government to the people. We teach people about the functions of Chapter9 institutions. We assist members of the community more especially ex-miners get their outstanding benefits. We also assist families that battle with accessing government services like birth n death certificates.
    EDUCATION and TRAINING
    This is about engaging communities more especially youth, unemployed and community at large. Once we have access to computers we shall develop a syllabus so that we teach them computer skill. We have qualified people who are willing to assist Iziko Enterprise even if the qualifications would not be accredited but if we have access to accreditation the better.
    HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
    This talks about social behaviour.People live today for today. This objective would work with education n training as well in making the community aware of new as well as existing diseases. We work well with our local clinics. We would also touch on substance as well as drug abuse, eating habits as well.
    LEGAL ASSISTANCE
    We work with our local law clinic and we will refer all legal matters to that office. Ours will be a conduit.

  • Hard working

Do you collaborate with other Causes? If yes, would you like to mention them?

 

  • For now no. We have identified them already like, clinics, schools, police, churches

 

If you had one Organisation wish, what would it be?

 

  • See us getting funding, there is a lot of work that still has to be done in communities. In South Africa people left their lives in the hands of politicians and were disappointed. Time is now that they get their lives back.

 

In your opinion, which skills do Nonprofits in your Country lack?

 

  • Bookkeeping/accounting
    Good governance

 

Looking back at your Cause Journey, what advice would you give a newbie Organisation?

 

  • It’s not an easy task but it needs perseverance n passion.

 

If you could change one thing about the Nonprofit Landscape, what would it be?

 

  • NPO need more space to operate from. There is a mistrust between local structures and NPO’s.

 

Last question, if your friends had to describe your Organisation in three words, which would they use?

 

    • Humble
