Describe in detail what your Organisation does:

We are an Early Childhood Development centre based on a farm providing a safe environment for children on farms to ensure quality education as well as balanced meals. We provide our own transportation to collect children from farms in a 20 km radius around the centre. We drive 240 km per day to make sure children can access early childhood education. Our vision is to see that children on farms have the same opportunities as children living in town.

How long has your Organisation been operational?

We were established in May 1992. So for the past 25 years we provide a much-needed service to the farm community.

In your opinion, what has been the most challenging aspect of running your Organisation?

To sustain our transport is a huge challenge due to petrolhikes and long distances. Training on technology and how to use media for fundraising is also a disadvantage.

Do you collaborate with other Causes? If yes, would you like to mention them?

Yes.W e belong to the Langeberg ECD forum as well as a National body SACECD.

If you had one Organisation wish, what would it be?

To pay decent salaries to the staff.

In your opinion, which skills do Nonprofits in your Country lack?

Computer training and how to use technology in our sector to assist us.

Looking back at your Cause Journey, what advice would you give a newbie Organisation?

Get people with skills and experience to assist you. Do not try to be an all in one. Look at your strengths and concentrate on that for the rest ask for help.

If you could change one thing about the Nonprofit Landscape, what would it be?

The funding circuit.
