Operation Anti-Freeze is an Inner City Upliftment Project which began in October 2000. We reach out to underprivileged men, women and children throughout Ekurhuleni.
We run School projects where we support 11 schools and two crèches by providing over 1000 food parcels monthly. Groups of children within these schools have been identified by the teachers as coming from very poor households and that are in dire need of assistance. We also supply spreads, such as peanut butter, jams, mayonnaise etc. as well as fruit and vegetables when possible, to the schools to help them provide lunch for the children. For some of those children the meal they get at school is the only meal they will have for the day, many of these children do not eat from the Friday when they leave school until the Monday when they return to school. A hungry child cannot concentrate or study and is thus unable to reach his or her full potential.
We also run projects whereby we collect and provide stationery, blankets and a food hamper in December to these children. When possible we provide school uniforms to those who don’t have. We work with and assist a number of other organisations such as an after school feeding scheme in Kingsway informal settlement, Reto rehabilitation center, Angel Wings care center, Project Feed The Children as well as other welfare organisations.
We fight hunger and feed hope!

We have been serving and making a difference in our community for 20 years. We started out by giving out blankets to 16 people living on the streets in our area and we now assist around 1000 people each month. We are a tiny organisation with only 2 full-time staff members but we have a big heart for those less fortunate and often forgotten, and we are making a big difference.
