Posted by Riversands Incubation Hub is a ground-breaking initiative with the scale to have real economic impact by supporting small businesses, fostering job creation and alleviating poverty. The Riversands initiative was catalysed in 2015 through a private-public partnership between Century Property Developments and National Treasury’s Jobs Fund. Established and start-up small businesses are accommodated at Riversands for a period of up to three years in subsidised premises with access to business support services. The campus is currently home to over 150 small businesses.

Describe in detail what your Organisation does:
Riversands Incubation Hub provides premises at subsidised rent and business support services to small businesses to enable them to grow. These services include: growth and learning (lectures and mentorship); back office support services (e.g. bookkeeping, legal and HR); marketing support such as logo and leaflet design and where possible, linking to corporate supply chains.
How long has your Organisation been operational?
Riversands Incubation Hub became fully operational in September 2015.
In your opinion, what has been the most challenging aspect of running your Organisation?
Designing support services to provide the right ingredients for all 157 on-campus business and funding the personnel to deliver the services.

Nonprofits often lack sales skills.

Believe in your cause and be flexible when growing.
If you could change one thing about the Nonprofit Landscape, what would it be?
For money wasted on corruption to be channeled to nonprofits who can account for their spending.
