Food and Nutrition Foundation (FNF) was founded in 2005 and it started operations in 2008. The organisation was officially registered in January,2009 by the Registrar of Societies in Lusaka, Zambia.
FNF is a Community based NGO , working with women and children in poor and disadvantaged communities in Zambia.
Our Mission is to bring about social economic justice at all levels through provision of Nutrition, Education, Skills training and advocating for the rights of women and children in poor and disadvantaged communities in Zambia and Southern Africa.

Describe in detail what your Organisation does:
FNF works with women and children living in poor and disadvantaged communities. The Foundation works in 3 thematical areas;
1. Education
2. Health
3. Women empowerment
FNF sponsors children to go to school, we provide them school uniforms, school shoes, bags and school stationery.
We also run and manage a Community Preschool and Saturday school for children from the age of 5 to 18 years old.

Funding agencies to give preference to grass root NGOs as they are hands on in the community and yet the funders prefer to work with big NGOs who in most cases do not have a presence in the community.
Which Cause achievement are you most proud of? Feel free to elaborate on why and include any links:
Building 25 houses for Grandmothers and poor women looking after orphans and vulnerable children in the community.
Providing an education to children from very poor and disadvantaged homes and seeing them thrive and become confident of themselves .
Feeding the poor and vulnerable for the past 10 years and seeing the health of the children and adults improve due to the nutrition support and feeding program.
